What is Trigeminal Neuralgia?
Trigeminal neuralgia is a nerve disorder causing sudden, intense pain on one side of the face, often described as a sharp, electric shock-like pain. This pain originates from the trigeminal nerve, which carries sensory information from the face to the brain. Pain attacks can be triggered by seemingly innocuous activities like brushing teeth or washing the face.

in some cases the cause remains unknown after thorough diagnostic testing.
