Kyphoplasty | Vertebroplasty

Compression fractures, cause the vertebrae lose stability, collapse, and produce debilitating pain. loss in height, and poor posture. Kyphoplasty surgery involves inserting a bone cement into the fractured vertebra to offer support and strength. To access the affected vertebra, a small incision is made at the point of the fracture, if the vertebra has collapsed due to the fracture, the physician will use specialized tools to create a cavity inside the vertebra to restore it to its original height Once the cavity is enlarged, bone cement is injected inside the vertebra. The incision is closed, and the patient can usually go home the same day.
