Dr. Deshpande began his career as a Medical Doctor, in Aurangabad, India.

After becoming a Physician, Dr. Deshpande spent three years practicing medicine, working as an Internist in India. Given his desire to become a General Surgeon, Dr. Deshpande relocated to Sunderland, England. While living in England, Dr. Deshpande worked and trained at the Sunderland Orthopedic & Accident Hospital, and later practiced at the Royal Hospital of Sunderland located in the UK. 

Dr. Deshpande moved to the United States where he completed residency programs in Brooklyn, New York and Cleveland, Ohio.
Practicing as a General Surgeon in the hospital, Dr. Deshpande was afforded broad, yet often very specialized training in all disciplines of surgery and medicine. Dr. Deshpande has specialized knowledge and experience related to the diagnosis, preoperative, operative, and postoperative management, including the management of complications and the comprehensive management of trauma, including musculoskeletal, hand, and head injuries.

Dr. Deshpande was responsible for all phases of care of the injured patient. In addition, Dr. Deshpande cared for critically ill patients with underlying surgical conditions in the emergency room, intensive care unit, critical care unit and trauma unit.
On days that Dr. Deshpande was not performing surgeries at the hospital he would see patients at his private practice. Dr. Deshpande treated patients with a wide variety of ailments, including patients who suffered from painful conditions.

Dr. Deshpande has studied and completed training in interventional procedures, including spinal cord stimulation and pain pump therapy.
Throughout his career, Dr. Deshpande would travel to impoverished and underserved countries to provide free medical care to the people of that region. 

Dr. Deshpande is fluent in English, Hindi, and Marathi languages.
