Epidural Steroid Injection

An epidural steroid injection is administered to decrease the severity of pain and inflammation of the spine - cervical, thoracic, and lumbar regions. The epidural steroid injection is often effective because it directly addresses the source responsible for the pain symptoms. Inflammation is associated with various spinal conditions such as herniated disc, spinal stenosis, or degenerative disc disease.

Sacroiliac Joint (SIJ) Injection

The Physician will inject a steroid into the joint space of the Sacroiliac, where the irritated nerve roots are located. The steroid reduces inflammation and irritation, and the anesthetic numbs the nerves in the area, providing relief from low back pain.

Joint Injections: Elbow, Hip, Knee, and Shoulder

Joint injections are a minimally invasive treatment for relieving pain caused by an inflamed joint.  Joint injections include steroid medications and anesthetic numbing solutions, that go directly into the affected joint.

Corticosteroids reduce inflammation that causes chronic joint pain and  the numbing agent provides immediate pain relief.

Facet Injection: Diagnostic Medial Branch Block

Facet joint syndrome is an arthritis-like condition of the spine that can be a significant source of back and neck pain.  Facet joint injections are used to treat inflamed and arthritic joints in the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine.

Lumbar Sympathetic Block

Lumbar Sympathetic Blocks are a type of nerve block that target the sympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for regulating the body's "fight or flight" response. When the sympathetic nervous system is overactive, it can cause chronic pain and other symptoms such as sweating, itching, and changes in skin color.

Lumbar sympathetic blocks are performed by injecting local anesthetics or other medications directly into the lumbar sympathetic chain, which runs along the spine in the lower back. The goal of the procedure is to temporarily interrupt the transmission of pain signals from the sympathetic nervous system and provide relief from chronic pain.

Stellate Ganglion Blocks

Stellate ganglion blocks are used to target the nerves that originate in the neck and contribute to pain in the face, arms, and upper body.

Celiac Plexus Blocks

Celiac plexus blocks are used to target the nerves that originate in the abdomen and contribute to abdominal pain.

Genicular Nerve Block

A genicular nerve block is designed to diagnose and treat chronic knee pain. Usually, a genicular nerve block is administered via an injection that contains both a local anesthetic and corticosteroid.

Trigger Point Injections

When connective tissue called fascia becomes constricted or tight, it may cause pain in the immediate area, resulting in restricted movement.  Restricted movement may result in referred pain to other areas of the body. A trigger point injects medicine into those constricted or tight areas within the fascia or muscles that are causing the pain. Occasionally, trigger points may be felt under the skin as a knot or nodule.  You may feel muscle twitches or pain when the knots are pressed on with your finger.
