Fibromyalgia is a disease characterized by widespread pain with multiple tender points all over the body.

Diagnosing fibromyalgia can be difficult, as there are no lab tests that can confirm if you have the disease. There are 18 places from your back and neck to the insides of your knees that are especially painful if you put pressure on them. Having 11 or more of these tender points increases the likelihood of a fibromyalgia diagnosis, but you may have fewer and still meet the other criteria. ​There's no cure for fibromyalgia.
